Delkevic exhaust question
« on: June 14, 2010, 10:46:43 AM »

Anyone know anything about these exhausts?  Also will an 04 -06 Z750 exhaust fit a 2006 Z750S?  Any modifications needed?

General question now...the one I'm looking at comes in 2 lengths, a 14" and an 18" and it's carbon fibre.  I want a can to match my black bike but I don't want it obnoxiously loud, so I'm guessing the 14" will be louder than the 18", am I right?

i don't know anything about that brand. it's generally true that shorter exhausts are louder though.

UPDATE:  A few teething problems with the link pipe I was sent by the company but they have been stellar for keeping in touch and making sure I get sorted out.  There won't be any more problems I'm sure if you're ordering a set up from them.  The silencer looks top notch and all the fittings are well made.  The compression band clamps are way better than stock for example and the link pipe is highly polished.  The can itself looks great and very well made.  PM me for details etc.  I'll add another update when the pipe is on the bike.

OK...link pipe arrived from the UK ..fits great.  Can't use OEM gasket but some high temp silicone works just fine.  This is a great pipe...great customer service...fantastic price...and now if you talk to Luke from Delkevic US he knows all about the Z750S pipes and fitment.  Very happy customer here.  Got mine from E-bay, just do a search.

Which size did you end up going with the 14" or 18"?  How does it sound?  I have been contemplating ordering one just doing my research first.  Thanks for any input.

Hi I got the 18" one (the longer one) just because I'm concerned about noise (apparently police are clamping down on noise here in Canada).  It sounds great to me but I haven't taken the baffle out yet.  Certainly looks good.

I know this is an old thread but I figured I'd chime in on my thoughts about Delkevic. I just installed my new 14" stubby and it sounds excellent. It took awhile to get my pipe because apparently my order got misplaced but one email after a few weeks of waiting and I had the exhaust in two days  :) It fits great and the only issue with the install was the clamp for the link pipe to the header was to big so a quick trip to AutoZone and a new clamp fixed that. Overall I am very happy with this exhaust and for the price you really cant beat it!

How loud are your Delkevic exhausts compared to stock.
I am not looking for something that will "wake the dead"

cheers

As long as you go with the 13-14'' you wont be to loud. Its just a nice deep tone but nothing crazy.
